Title:  Sales Director

Supervisor: Founder

FLSA Status: Exempt, Outside Sales

 

Pratt Standard Cocktail Company is looking for a Sales Director to join our team.  This Sales Director should be prepared to work independently, with input and oversight from the Founder. Most work will be conducted remotely, with occasional on-site meetings. This position will have a real, direct impact on the success of Pratt Standard. 

 

Essential Functions

  • Research, prospecting, lead generation, closing and account management of new retail outlets
  • Maintain, improve, and add to customer database
  • Attend and represent Pratt Standard at meetings, trade shows, cocktail classes, and other industry events to maximize lead generation and improve brand awareness, including travel as needed
  • Optimization and implementation of prospect qualification system
  • Forecast sales, develop and test sales tactics and regularly evaluate effectiveness
  • Evaluate existing and new customer needs and build productive long lasting relationships, consistently exceeding customer expectations and providing superb customer service
  • Meet or exceed sales targets as set by the Founder
  • Report and provide feedback to the Founder using hard data
 

Who You Are, What You’ll Bring

  • Based in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area
  • 3+ years of experience as an outside sales representative or account executive
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sales, or Marketing
  • Demonstrated self-starter with the ability to develop sales hypotheses, test them, and pivot tactics and overall strategy as needed.
  • Must have existing relationships in the food and beverage industry.
  • Demonstrated results in the development and execution of sales processes for a prior employer.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Able to exercise independent judgment and possess strong decision-making and prioritization skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, motivated by sales goals.
  • Strong computer skills including internet research, and working knowledge of Google products, including Google Docs and Google Sheets, as well as Microsoft Office. Illustrator is a plus. 
  • Proficiency in Salesforce, Pipedrive, or other CRM Tools.
  • Self-starter, scrappy, willing to pick up tasks not discreetly in their job description to support the overall business of Pratt Standard as necessary.
  • Hard-working, enthusiastic, customer-service-oriented personality.
  • Strong organization skills with attention to detail.
  • A foodie, a lover of the craft movement, and/or a champion of good quality foods and beverages.
  • Owns a car and maintains insurance on that car, to be used for Pratt Standard as necessary and reimbursed at the GSA rate (not required, but a plus).

Pay & Hours:

  • Creative structure: base salary plus generous commission and equity
  • Full-time, flexible hours

  • Works in a fast-paced environment with a focus on premium customer service.  Will experience all weather-related conditions.
 

Physical Demands 

  • Must be able to work in a professional office setting with extensive computer and telephone use, as well as in sales settings such as trade shows, industry events, and wholesale customer locations.
  • Must be able to:
      1. drive a car and maintain a valid driver’s license
      2. stand for long periods of time
      3. lift at least 50lbs regularly and repeatedly, every day
      4. endure hot and cold temperatures for long durations during events
