Company description Sawkill Farm is a 200 acre diverse livestock farm in the Hudson Valley, selling directly to customers at our farm store and farmers' markets.  We raise grass-fed beef & lamb as well as pasture-raised chicken, eggs and pork.  We value using the whole animal and we make and sell bone broth & stock, beef tallow soaps, wool, and lamb pelts as value-added products. **You will be alternating weeks with another employee**

Sawkill Farm is looking for a employee to represent our farm at the Jackson Heights Greenmarket.  The Market Worker will be responsible for communicating with our customers about our farm and most importantly selling our products, 100% grass fed beef & lamb, pasture raised pork & chicken and 100% free roaming eggs. 

If you are passionate about animal welfare, good meat and small farms in New York and enjoy talking to people about how to prepare and enjoy beef, pork, and chicken, we are looking for you!

The ideal candidate will be: 

• Punctual, we have a tight schedule for market dropoffs. 
• FRIENDLY, enthusiastic and outgoing!
• Knowledgeable about cooking meat
• Passionate about sustainable farming practices
• Not afraid of the cold (this is a year round position and you will be working outside in the NYC winter) and have mittens.

Hours are 7:30am - 2:30pm and pay is $120/day.  EVERY OTHER WEEK Compensation this position is : hourly, $15/hr + Application instructions Deadlineno deadline
