Project Assistant Wellness in the Schools

Company description Wellness in the Schools (WITS) is a national non-profit that teaches kids healthy habits to learn and live better. We partner with public schools to provide nutrition and fitness education, healthy scratch-cooked meals and active recess periods. Our approach improves student outcomes and drives systemic, long-term change, shifting school cultures. Job description Wellness in the Schools is looking for a hardworking, organized individual to join our team! This person will truly see the ins and outs of a national nonprofit, and will be able to get experience in a variety of fields (operations, development, program). 
 

Qualifications:

  • Excellent communication skills
  • Experience with and a passion for social media
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office required; experience with Salesforce or similar CRM preferred
  • Ability to thrive in a fast paced, collaborative, ever changing environment
  • Ability to multi-task, juggle multiple projects at once, and exercise good judgment
  • Detail oriented and deadline focused
  • Passion for Wellness in the Schools’ mission
  • A bachelor’s degree and 1+ years of relevant experience, non-profit background preferred
 

Responsibilities pertaining to position (including, but not limited to):

Operations: 

  • Ensure office operations run smoothly by fulfilling duties which include, but are not limited to: communicating with landlords, utility companies, and service providers; managing inventories to ensure office supplies are always available; examining office equipment; keeping a close eye on the facilities to ensure they are organized, clean, and well-maintained.
  • Ensure that all new employees have completed their necessary hiring documents, and lead each employee through a thorough onboarding/offboarding process with the Director of Operations 
  • Provide a variety of clerical duties in support of day-to-day operations. 
 

Development and Communications:

  • Manage donor acknowledgement including thank you letters and swag/gift fulfillment. 
  • Conduct ongoing outreach and research of potential corporate, government, and foundations for partnership and grant opportunities.
  • Support communications on social media. 
  • Support a portfolio of fundraising/marketing events.

 

Program:

  • Assist Program team on admin-related tasks, as necessary.

  • This position reports to the Development Manager.
