Local is growing! Tri-State Local Foods, Inc. d/b/a The Wild Ramp, now in its seventh year, is seeking a driven and seasoned manager to be its next Market Director.
 

The Market Director will report to the Board of Directors and have primary responsibility over day-to-day retail operations of our year-round, nonprofit farmers market located at 555 14th Street West in Huntington, West Virginia. This role prioritizes the cultivation of relationships with our producers to ensure that the market is consistently well stocked with product that meets our standards, including but not limited to quality and locality of origin.
 

The Market Director will develop sales goals and implement sales strategies for organizational sustainability. In addition to supervising market staff and volunteers, s/he will also oversee staff developing and implementing programs, events, grants, and grant-funded activities which promote our mission of growing and supporting a vibrant economy and community for local food, food products, and artisan goods. The Market Director will also be responsible for other duties as assigned by the Board.
 

Qualified candidates will possess:

• A cheerful demeanor and ability to provide excellent customer service.
• Familiarity with organic and commercial growing practices as well as cottage industry and farmers market laws and regulations in West Virginia and surrounding states.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, point-of-sale software, and accounting software.
• Experience in retail, management and supervision of employees, and grant life cycle.
• Nonprofit leadership experience is a plus.

This position is 40 hour/week with paid vacation (2 weeks), paid sick time (2 weeks), and eligibility for performance bonuses. Pay commensurate with experience.
