Multi-Dimensional Customer Service Ger-Nis Culinary & Herb Center

  • Date Posted December 06, 2019
  • Location Bolinas, CA
  • Category Agriculture / Culinary
  • Job type Part-Time
Company description

Ger-Nis Culinary & Herb Center, founded in 2005, was the culinary and marketing arm of Ger-Nis International. Closing in 2012, Ger-Nis International was a fruit and vegetable import and distribution company, located in Brooklyn, New York. It specialized in organic, sustainable, and fairly traded commodities. The culinary center grew out of this, and it maintains a focus on food education and marketing through a diverse medley of offerings. These include hands-on recreational and educational cooking classes & events for adults and children, with an emphasis on food source education for the local community. The culinary center connects global farmers to eaters starting at the source, with supply chain management and sales services. New business development, brand identity, marketing, PR, product sales, and consumer driven commodity education round out the system. The company’s main agricultural client is Crespo Organic Mangoes.

The company also supports the founder’s other work in various ventures. These include recipe development (with an emphasis on fresh herbs and mangoes), food writing, food photography, produce commodity consumer education, and culinary education for kids and adults.

In 2014, the founder relocated to California, eliminating the physical Brooklyn space but continuing the consultancy work and food education in various northern California locations. A new home-studio space in the sleepy beach/surf village of Bolinas, California, is among these locations.

The founder and the company have been incredibly successful throughout the years offering a trifecta of opportunities: *providing global growers access to more sustainable and profitable markets, *while simultaneously offering small domestic communities the resources to learn about farmers, food, food cultures, and how to cook with great ease and joy, *while supporting good healthy eating and purchasing habits for communities, ourselves, and the planet!

The company offers low cost top-notch services for small growers; therefore, every single person working in the Ger-Nis system is highly skilled in several arenas.
