  We are many years ahead here making a Sows ear into a Purse.  We’re reclaiming a spectacular scenic  temperate Jungle landscape into a Farm & Health Retreat.  
  Finishing touches required on 11 usable buildings. We are continually opening new areas for specialty production, 5 miles of trails, new construction, off grid options, transplanting lined in nursery stock, & restoring antique equipment.

  Many tools, tractors, hay equip, combine, Hoop houses, pumps, materials, diverse grow areas, many irrigation systems from many water sources . Lots of infrastructure in place, more to do. Verizon cell service, Satalite wifi. Clean air & water, great night sky.
 
  Established now: Milk Goats, Rabbitry, ducks, year round greens from  hoop houses, perennial fruits, nuts & medicinal plants.  Deer hunting and control available. We source and process compost materials.
  We are rural and private but not remote.

Only a Gardener produces something. Most jobs buy and sell or are middling. We Welcome residents with diverse interests who really care and are fun to be around. 

Typical Day:

  Everything it takes to grow food. Saving and starting seeds, bed prep, bug picking, sorting and grading. Everything it takes to present product for sale on and off farm. Every Kitchen project, every clean up, every value added production. Lotsa jars, buckets, remay, irrigation pieces, wheel barrows, reducing, re using and recycling make a farm.
  We go Year round. We are daily watering, feeding, scouting, gathering mulch & manure and applying it. We maintain all living and mechanical residents. We clean and organise and Stop to Smell the Roses.  
   Farming is not "hard" there are many daily to-do's that can be shared and streamlined with our engineering wits.
  Ya gotta Love it.

    The Weather is the boss. There are seasonal windows to take advantage of. Any of the many Priorities can rearrange. We are in non denial of the Climate Emergency.
   Nothing is hard.  there is a lot of paying attention, re-inventing, communicating, and Multi tasking. Together we can improve infrastructure, grow food for market, guests, and ourselves.
  If you see a flat of wilted starts on your way to lunch, you stop and water them first. In bed and it starts to rain? get up and cover what cant get wet. Thats whats hard about farming, after the mortgage is paid.

   If you are personally invested in a projects outcome you will shine in your Best. The food we share now was grown & preserved by others before you came. Growing food happens over time, unlike stores.
   We work by profit share. we invest in crops before they pay. this is why we dont pay the first day. We are dept free but reinvest.

  We contract by Profit Share. You Reap what you Sow. That's farm talk for your time & caring equals fruition, literally, over time, this can become sustenance and cash. 
   There are many money generating projects here. Marketing and post harvest handling is, I regret to say, more time and effort then production. 'Ag tourism' is our best opportunity. Already taking guests, More to do. There is also fixing up of buildings to do.

   Like all self employed, we persist till we're paid. Sun, Rain & Seasons our our Boss, Management & indoor sit down positions filled. Plan to stay on the farm. We're hr to Charlottesville. Off farm work is not close or dependable.
  There is no bad weather, only bad gear. Va is a very active climate, systems move through every 3-4 days. the ideal summer day begins cool, hot by 2, thunders till 4  & clear again. The sun is stronger  and less mosquito's and black and deer flies then New England, Great in winter, gloves off by 10am. Hoops are a T-shirt oasis.
