About The Role
The Collective’s US Finance team is searching for an Accounting Assistant to support the US Head Office and operational sites. You will contribute to a vital part of the business, working with the operations team and the other functions within the business, in order to maintain efficient accounting processes and help deliver accurate financial statements. You can expect to assist the Financial Controller with daily accounting functions for the Head Office and development projects. The work is varied in a high-growth start-up environment that rewards results and empowers you to make decisions on behalf of the business.
Key responsibilities
- Managing Accounts Payable process across multiple entities
- Reconciling the bank account on a monthly basis
- Preparing monthly Accruals
- Posting monthly Prepayments
- Working closely with F&B team on inventory management
- Reconciling F&B rooms sales and compile monthly invoice
- Helping with production of monthly management accounts
- Analysis and processing of credit card payments
- Managing Petty Cash
- Managing outstanding debts
- Any other ad hoc requests from Financial Controller
About You
We are searching for someone who has a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting from an accredited institute, who is motivated, an excellent multitasker and has a can-do, positive attitude. The role requires exceptional communication and time management skills. You should be thorough, accurate, and honest. You should also be able to push, pull and lift 30lbs. Additionally, you should be comfortable with weekly travel between office locations (both in NYC).
To be a successful Accounting Assistant, you should have an understanding of basic Accounting principles and proficiency with computers and software, such as Excel. You should be trustworthy, efficient, and organized.
