Yummy Kitchen is a food truck business based in Hudson, NY. It started in 2017 with a stand at Troy Farmer’s market on Saturday’s, selling scallion pancakes, pho and banh mi’s. In 2018, the food truck opened for lunch on Warren Street in Hudson. We are currently open 7 days a week, serving lunch in Hudson, and popping up at events, festivals, breweries etc. as well as private parties and catering. In 2020, we’ll be adding a second food truck, and a weekly residency at a local farm cidery every Friday night.
Our main goal is to bring a little bit of Asian street food culture to upstate New York. Yummy Kitchen is inspired by the vibrant food cultures of Vietnam, Thailand, China, Korea, Japan etc. The heart of this whole business is centered on our love for cooking, and of course eating, this style of food.
Where we cook is always changing, whether it be a restaurant pop-up, a farmer’s market, or a parking lot, so we pride ourselves at being flexible, also, the dynamic and ever-changing workspace keeps things exciting. Our headquarters is in a beautiful commercial prep kitchen in Kinderhook, NY. We are a small hardworking team of 5 people and are looking to find 2 or 3 more part or full-time team members for the season.
Job description
The job is fairly dynamic and everyone does a little bit of everything. Tasks will mostly include fast-paced cooking on the line, prepping, cleaning, front of house/cashier. There is a lot of customer interaction as it’s an open kitchen, so the applicant must enjoy a social job.
We’re looking for experienced cooks who know how to work quickly and efficiently in a high-stress environment while retaining attention to detail and aesthetics. We have a strong focus on quality and consistency in terms of food, as well as customer service.
