Job description

Vision: As an integral part of the island experience, the food and beverage department will strive to provide excellence in table fare, service, and gracious southern hospitality. Although the emphasis as LSSI is on nature, the F&B team plays a critical role in our guests visit. The department should maintain high standards for quality, efficiency, from scratch production, and most of all sustainability.

The island kitchen is a small department given our small operation. This means we have a few positions that have a broad range of requirements.
The Kitchen Assistant position is a live on island position.

Job duties include but are not limited to:

  • Providing excellent dining room service to guests at meal times.
  • Maintaining dining room set up and cleanliness.
  • Working closely with the Chef and Sous Chef to determine what tasks need completing.
  • Laundering kitchen linens
  • Dishwashing
  • General kitchen cleaning.
  • Light food prep and beverage station maintenance

Ideal Candidate: 

We are currently searching for an outgoing and independent person to join our island team. The candidate should be comfortable with the simple, secluded lifestyle that an island only accessible by boat has to offer. The proper candidate should have the following qualities:

  • Flexibility- Ability to “wear many hats” so to speak.
  • Sense of urgency- During meal rush we need quick, efficient serving staff
  • Hospitality- The south is known for it and we promote this fully.
  • Team builder- We are a close knit staff community.
  • Accountability, Professionalism, Organization, and strong work ethic
