Organizational Overview
San Diego Food System Alliance (“the Alliance”) uses the power of collaboration to cultivate a healthy, sustainable, and just food system in San Diego County. Founded in 2012, the Alliance is a network of over 150 organizations working across sectors to promote collaboration, influence policy, and catalyze transformation in the food system. Grounded in a shared vision for change and informed by the experience and expertise of its network, the Alliance envisions a food system that elevates social, environmental, and economic equity for all. The Alliance was officially launched out of a recommendation from the
San Diego Food System Assessment and the Urban-Rural Roundtable, convened by Roots of Change, San Diego County Supervisor Ron Roberts and City of San Diego Mayor Jerry Sanders.

Our Commitment to Equity and Justice

At the San Diego Food System Alliance, we are committed to cultivating a healthy, sustainable, and just food system. Our only path toward healing ourselves and our food system is through a deep commitment to social, environmental, and economic justice for all.

We advocate for self determination, free from all forms of oppression, systemic or otherwise. We center and uplift those who are most impacted by structural inequities, and actively work for the fair treatment, access, opportunity, and advancement of those who have been marginalized. We believe there is strength in our collective lived experiences, and power in celebrating our differences while recognizing our interdependence. The health and well being of one is intimately bound to the health and well being of all.

Most importantly, we acknowledge that we cannot achieve justice without racial justice, and that achieving true equality requires dismantling racism and repairing the centuries of harm inflicted on black, indigenous, and people of color.

We aim to identify candidates committed to these values of equity and justice.

The San Diego Food Systems Alliance is an Equal Opportunity Employer. We encourage all qualified candidates, regardless of race, ethnicity, religion, national origin, age, sex, disability, veteran status, or gender identity to apply for this position.
