• Ensure on-the-job training and development for Grocery retail floor staff.
• Provide a rewarding shopping experience by leading merchandising, replenishment, and retail floor operations.
• Fill holes in staff schedule; must be available for work on nights and weekends.
• Establish and maintain a positive work environment that supports high department morale.
• Responsible for delegating tasks to retail floor clerks such as pulling back stock, re-pricing of goods and works on inventory projects.
• Ensure accurate, up-to-date labeling (or shelf tags) for department items; double-checking that items (regular and sale prices) are ringing correctly. Notify department manager of any problems. 
• Ensures that Grocery displays, aisles and storage areas are clean and in orderly condition.
• Ensures that products are in saleable condition when on the shelves; this includes removing damaged or out-of-date products.
• Be aware of merchandising plan for Grocery Department, help to maintain it and give feedback to department manager to ensure its success.
• Ensure that items are maintained in an in-stock, on-the-shelf position, with special attention paid to the items in the top 10% as well as end-caps and special displays.
• Maintain attractive, fully-stocked, rotated and faced sections. Delegates stocking and/or fronting priorities to stockers. 
• Stock as needed and time permits.
• Watch for inventory that is not moving, overstocked or in danger of going out of code and alert department manager.
• Conform to company policies concerning recycling.
• Participate in event coordination and set-up.
