Job description

The Misfits Market procurement team is responsible for managing our incredible farm partnerships, sourcing and purchasing all of the fresh produce that ends up in our customers boxes each week. Working closely with our grower partners, the procurement team leads the charge at Misfits Market in fighting food waste at the farm level. 

We are looking to hire a passionate food professional to join the procurement team at Misfits Market. The produce buyer will work alongside the produce buying team & directly with the VP of procurement as we expand our grower network and take on food waste at a large scale. The produce buyer will manage all aspects of produce purchasing process, including, but not limited to - price and volume negotiations, pickup and delivery of orders, returns and quality issues, cost & inventory management and much more.

Qualified Candidates should possess the following:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field
  • 2-3 years of procurement, supply chain and planning experience
  • Strong working knowledge of the food industry
  • Experience with ERP systems such as SAP or Dynamics
  • Strong negotiating skills
  • Excellent communication skills, both written & verbal, with a demonstrated ability to work effectively across multiple teams
  • Proficiency with G-Suite, Excel, Word & Slack
