Company description Barrett's Mill Farm is a certified organic vegetable and fruit farm located on 15 acres of town-owned land in Concord, Massachusetts. We strive to farm in a way that will keep the land healthy and productive for generations to come. In 2020, our seventh season of production, we are growing for over 300 members as well as farm stand customers. We also donate vegetables to local hunger relief organizations and participate in the Healthy Initiatives Pilot (HIP) for SNAP customers. Field Crew Members will work closely with the farm managers and an amazing farm crew harvesting and washing produce, weeding, planting and seeding. This is a great opportunity for someone who likes to be outdoors, get their hands dirty, and have a sense of accomplishment at the end of the day. We are looking for someone who is not only able to physically keep up with the fast pace of the job, but who also has a positive attitude, good sense of humor and is enthusiastic about vegetables!

 Requirements:

• The ability to lift 40lbs, bend, twist and walk over uneven ground repeatedly.

• Experience working outdoors and/or in a fast-paced work environment.

• Punctuality is essential.

• Prior farming experience is preferred.

Schedule:

• mid/late August through November.

• Field crew members are generally scheduled Tuesday - Saturday, either for mornings (7am-noon) or full days (7am-4pm). Monday 8am- 4pm is also available for one crew member. Exact schedules will be arranged individually.

• Field crew members must commit to at least 20 hours per week and availability on Saturdays is a plus.

Compensation:

In addition to an hourly wage, Field Crew members receive a CSA membership (about $35-$50 worth of vegetables per week).
