Job description

The Production Manager will report to the Company President.

The Production Manager is responsible for the successful operation of the Whole & Free Foods LLC (W&F) production facility. The Production Manager’s primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the consistent production and packaging of W&F product portfolio, ensuring all products meet W&F quality standards and are free of the E.U. top 14 allergens (listed below) and corn. The Production Manager is also responsible for hiring, training, scheduling and monitoring the production staff; maintaining equipment, ordering supplies needed for production, packaging and facility operation, executing inventory management and manufacturing orders via the Company’s materials resource planning tool (MRPeasy) and adhering to and executing against protocols required for maintenance of the Company’s Kosher, Gluten-Free, and non-GMO certifications.

Responsibilities & Duties:

• Supervise and be responsible for the preparation and packaging of the W&F product portfolio, currently snack thins and crispbreads

• Hire, train, and schedule production staff who will assist with food preparation, packaging and clean up, ensuring that production levels and financial objectives are achieved

• Set and monitor performance standards, as well as build a culture that values ownership, accountability, quality, problem-solving, and asking for help

• Ensure all SKUs produced meet W&F quality standards

• Partner closely with Sales & Operating Planning (S&OP;) Manager and Fulfillment and Operations Manager to determine production schedule and ensure organizational alignment

• Leverage MRPeasy to open and close daily manufacturing orders and facilitate monthly inventory count and control procedures

• Maintain equipment in the production facility and manage any needed repairs

• Implement all W&F standard operating procedures (SOPs)

• Examine equipment for cleanliness and ensure that the facility remains free of the E.U. top major allergens: gluten, dairy, eggs, soy, tree nuts, peanuts, sesame, fish, shellfish, molluscs, mustard, lupins, celery, sulphur dioxide, and sulphites, plus corn.

• Ensure facility is compliant with all applicable health department food safety regulations, and regulations required by Kosher, Gluten-Free, and non-GMO certifying bodies

• Support Shift Supervisors in identifying key areas of capability development and assist in building professional development plans. Coach Shift Supervisors as needed.

• Proactively identify and recommend strategies to improve efficiency and effectiveness of production operations (e.g., yield)

Qualifications:

• Qualified candidates must possess a passion for preparing delicious food that meets W&F standards and be committed to contributing to a positive work environment. The best candidate will be a team player with excellent communication skills, able to effectively train and motivate staff.

• 3+ years of managing all operations within the kitchen is necessary including ordering supplies, maintaining equipment, staff scheduling.

• 3+ years hiring, training, managing, and motivating a kitchen staff is needed 

• Advanced knowledge of food profession principles and practices

• Ability to consistently meet deadlines with a positive approach

• Must have an active Food Service Manager Sanitation Certificate
