Company description Undertoe Farm is a community supported organic vegetable farm in beautiful northern Michigan. We believe in revitalizing the agroecosystem by enhancing the soil health "under our toes" while providing the local community with seasonal, nutritious vegetables and fruit. By managing our land thoughtfully, we aim to increase the diversity of native plants, amphibians, birds, and insects that roam. In the process, we hope to live a fulfilling, happy life (so far so good). Job description While helping to manage a successful small-scale organic vegetable farm, enjoy all that the Grand Traverse Bay Region has to offer. Breathtaking beaches, clear blue inland lakes, and a welcoming farming community surrounded by miles of natural area trails.

Undertoe is seeking a full-time, seasonal farm position beginning May1 through Oct 31st. Nearby affordable housing (<$200/mo) is included, paid time off, a fun work environment, and all the veggies your belly can handle!


Required Qualifications:
  • direct farming experience
  • positive attitude and flexible nature
  • a desire to learn organic farm practices and apply them to future career
  • can commit to the full season
We are seeking Field Assistants who:
  • have previous farm experience harvesting, weeding, transplanting, wash/pack, etc.
  • have a desire to gain organic farming experience
  • can commit to the full season
  • have positive, "can do" energy
  • are physically capable of lifting 40+ lbs, working long days in inclement weather until the harvest is done
  • have a sense of humor and perseverance
  • have previous tractor experience (not necessary but a plus!)
  • general customer service OR farm market sales experience
Daily duties will include but are not limited to:
  • weeding, lots of weeding :-)
  • seeding, transplanting, harvesting, wash/pack
  • working farmers market and rocking it!
  • delivery of CSA boxes to nearby drop-off sites
  • tractor cultivation work if qualified
  • greenhouse and hoophouse maintenance
Compensation this position is : hourly, varies DOE, $11.00 - $15.00 Application instructions
