We carefully source our whole animals from small farms in New England and the Hudson Valley that raise their livestock outdoors on pasture, without hormones or antibiotics. We take pride in our craft, in our community, and in providing professional and approachable customer service to anyone who walks through our door. Because we believe that a great company starts with happy, healthy employees, we offer competitive wages, humane schedules, shop stipend, paid time off, and frequent opportunities for professional development. Job description Our butchers are responsible for case cutting, grinding, and sausage making, as well as providing friendly, informative service to customers. As a member of our small but mighty team, we will also count on you to bring your unique values, perspectives, and ideas to help us grow and improve over time.

  • Receive, inspect, and store meat upon delivery, maintain FIFO rotation of inventory

Shop Support

  • Pitch in wherever help is needed to keep things running smoothly — we’re a small team in a small shop, and no task is too large or too small
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of all workspaces, storage, front-of-house and back-of-house areas at all times. Participate in weekly deep-clean activities
  • Assist with the meat-centric training of other butchers and meat mongers
You’ll Love This Job If You...
  • Have 1+ years of experience as a retail butcher or meat monger, intermediate knife skills, and a working knowledge of whole-animal anatomy and food safety

  • Want to work with a group of co-workers that are kind, respectful, and have fun while holding each other accountable to high standards
  • Are constantly looking for ways to learn and improve your butchery skills
  • Insist on keeping your workspace clean at all times
  • Understand the importance of record-keeping for both organization and food safety
  • Are into giving and receiving direct feedback
  • Have a personal commitment to buying and eating well-raised meat
