We are currently seeking an experienced baker for a position in our kitchen who will help us to continue to grow and thrive. All of the foods we serve are vegan, unless otherwise specified, and nearly all of the ingredients used to prepare them are organic. Our baked goods are made with unrefined sweeteners and expeller pressed oils. All of our juices and smoothies are made with exclusively certified organic fruits and vegetables, and are made fresh to order. Job description

POSITION TITLE:         Baker

REPORTS TO:             Kitchen Shift Leads, Kitchen Manager, Store Managers

REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 1-3 years of culinary experience in a commercial kitchen preferred
  • Strong orientation to detail
  • Ability to work within a busy kitchen
  • Able to prioritize and handle multiple tasks
  • Ability to interact in a friendly and effective manner with customers, answering questions accurately and politely, and positively building the relationship between the customer and the Store.


ADDITIONAL VALUED EXPERIENCE/SKILLS:

  • Food Safety Certification
  • First Aid/CPR Certification
  • Familiarity with natural foods and alternative diets preferred


PHYSICAL AND AVAILABILITY REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be able to stand for up to 6 hours at a time
  • Must be able to reach, bend down, squat
  • Must be able to perform repetitive motions
  • Must be able to handle exposure to steam, high temperatures, humidity, and freezer temperature
  • Must be able to hear, understand, and respond to questions from customers and questions and instructions from Kitchen Manager
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Must be available to work at least 40 total hours per week.
  • Must have morning, evening, and weekend availability


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Follows and completes daily prep and production lists as created by the leadership team
  • Prepare all baked goods with consistent quality that meets the Kitchen standards
  • Prepares in a timely and sanitary manner all baked goods
  • Cleans and maintains station in safe, sanitary, and well-organized manner
  • Communicates clearly and works with co-workers in a courteous and respectful manner
  • Assembles and disassembles in a timely and sanitary manner
  • Completes tasks in any area of the Kitchen necessary
  • Successfully coordinates baking time with other Kitchen stations
  • Empty all trashcans and compost bins and replace liners, clean receptacles as necessary.
  • Greet and assist customers, answering questions about daily menu items and seasonal items
  • Maintains a high level of awareness of the needs of each area of the kitchen
  • Ensure station is fully stocked with utensils, implements, and/or tools needed for each day
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Compensation this position is : hourly, $15-20/hr Application instructions
