Job description

SUMMARY

The Logistics Team Lead works to fulfill  our mission by creatively solving logistical issues and delivering an exceptional customer experience to both our site hosts and partner families. They are responsible for maintaining and fine tuning the logistical systems we use to deliver food to our Boston area families and for providing hands-on support to our network of pickup sites. This position includes on-site work most weeks and the ability to drive and help deliver food in all weather conditions.

 

LOGISTICS RESPONSIBILITIES

 
  • Collaboratively plan and adjust transportation routes from the VT Hub to Boston area pickup sites (currently 22)
  • Work to identify and evaluate new site locations and hosts in response to growing demand
  • Work with the FTY Home delivery coordinator to support Home Delivery route planning and troubleshooting
  • Help Site Hosts maintain clean, safe, and welcoming pick up sites for customers
  • Track delivery route or customer pickup site issues and oversee resolution
  • Purchase and deliver supplies for operations as needed
  • Weekly visits to and overseeing Boston area sites



 

ADMINISTRATIVE RESPONSIBILITIES

 
  • Communicate  weekly with site hosts
  • Maintain insurance and other needed records for each site
  • Communicate with Health Department and insurance companies as needed
  • Verify adherence to FTY and local Covid-19 guidelines at sites
  • Attend weekly and other periodic meetings including travel to the VT Hub
  • Provide local updates to the Community Engagement and Marketing Teams
 

LEADERSHIP RESPONSIBILITIES

 
  • Support the professional development of logistics team members
  • Oversee Home Delivery Coordinator
  • Onboard and train new Site Hosts
  • Confirm Site Host staffing and track substitutes
  • Assist in training and oversight of VT to Boston Driver Team
  • Track and manage expenses to budget
  • Facilitate meetings as needed
  • Collaborate with other Team Leads to accomplish short and long term organization goals
 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS 

  • Professional experience problem solving  in collaboration with others
  • Computer and smartphone literacy
  • On-call Weds-Fri to assist with site and transportation issues
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds 
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Reliable larger vehicle a plus (mileage reimbursed)
  • Willingness to represent FTY in our communities
