We are six locally sourced markets conveniently placed throughout Greater Portland that supply fresh and tasty food to a community of loyal customers. In addition to our markets, our “Mothership headquarters in Portland, Maine is home to our state-of-the-art production kitchen and distribution warehouse.

Designed to serve customers who enjoy shopping daily, or multiple days a week, to source the freshest ingredients for each of their meals. In addition to serving our communities, Rosemont Market and Bakery is committed to supporting our local food system. Fifteen years ago when we opened our first market on Brighton Avenue, we would walk the rows of the Portland Farmer’s Market and invite farmers to sell us what was left from that day’s haul. Today, many of those farmers remain valuable Rosemont suppliers and some of our closest friends. At present, over 60% of the products in our markets are grown or produced in the state of Maine. Here at Rosemont, we are committed to our role in making local food accessible to our communities.

Job description We are seeking an experienced Full-Time Kitchen Manager to lead our team of friendly and talented cooks at the Rosemont Mothership. Our ideal candidate will demonstrate the following criteria:

A passion for food, food trends, local food systems, conscious ingredient sourcing, and menu design.
Leadership experience with respect to hiring, training, scheduling, setting performance standards, and delivering feedback.
Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
Efficient techniques for high-volume kitchen production and workflow.
Superior attention to detail and consistency for quality control.
Confidence and accuracy with respect to budget and inventory management.
Advanced comprehension of industry-specific safety and sanitation standards.
A team-oriented attitude and a desire to promote a respectful, inclusive, and synergistic work environment.
A commitment to global and local sustainability efforts.

Position Details:
Kitchen shifts begin early. Applicants should be able to work one weekend day.
All kitchen staff share all responsibilities, learn all stations, and participate in product development.
All kitchen team members participate in cleaning activities including weekly and monthly deep cleaning.

Experience:
Minimum 1 year of professional leadership experience in a culinary setting. 3+ years of kitchen management experience preferred.
Leadership experience with respect to hiring, training, scheduling, setting performance standards, and delivering feedback.
High School diploma or equivalent required, College degree prefered.
Have or be willing to acquire ServSafe Manager Certification or equivalent.

Compensation & Benefits:
Salaried, commensurate with experience. Base pay is $41,600/year.
