About You:

We are seeking a person to be our Tasting Room Manager. This candidate will have hospitality and sales experience- restaurant and customer service experience is a plus! We will train the right person for the job. This position requires someone that is an excellent communicator, multitasker, has a knack for hospitality, and ability to make executive decisions.

Our ideal candidate is a people person who demonstrates kindness and a positive attitude, with an interest in handcrafted and locally grown farm products.

We are seeking a self-starter with the drive to manage a fast-paced environment in our busy seasons, and someone who is organized to complete projects in slower months. This individual will oversee the daily operations of the tasting room, create social media posts, maintain a productive wine club, hire and train tasting room staff, and achieve sales goals.

This is a customer service heavy position and we are proud of the experience we offer to our visitors at Bainbridge Vineyards. This person will have in personal trainings and remote-based consultations after hiring.


Job Description

Located at 8989 Day RD NE on Bainbridge Island, WA. This is a full time, hourly position that will work independently and closely with the owners of the business. Bainbridge Vineyards is open to the public four days a week, Thursday- Sunday from 12-5 PM. This position includes managing a tasting room staff of 3-5 workers, and allows for some at home administrative hours. We believe in on the job training and offer educational opportunities.

Position: Tasting Room Manager
Hours: Full Time, 32- 40 hours a week  

Availability: Flexible schedule and weekend availability. Not required to work every weekend, no late hours. The winery is open Thursday through Sunday, 12-5 PM.

Compensation: $18- $20 an hour, DOE + tips. Compensated Monthly.

Reports to: Owner, and Consulting Sales and Marketing Manager.

Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of our tasting room which includes tastings, tidiness, customer service, reservations, sales, shipping, and email correspondence. Must master our Point of Sale system and complete purchasing transactions.
  • Inventory management of retail merchandise, and tasting room supplies.
  • Maintain and update tasting menu/ daily marketing as needed.
  • Manage quarterly Wine club sales, shipping, and coordinate wine club events.
  • Prepare tasting room/ patio each day prior to opening to ensure the space is clean and prepared for guests.
  • Create marketing content for Instagram and Facebook.
  • Create a monthly work schedule for tasting room staff (yourself included).

Qualifications:

  • Must be willing to make the commute to work in a rural setting. Should live in or relocate to Kitsap/ Jefferson County. This position is not suitable for a Seattle commute.
  • Successful team management experience; A strong competency in sales and customer service is required. Experience emphases on farming, food, and wine industry a plus.
  • Ability to complete sales and create solutions, manage employees, create social media content.
  • Passion for customer service with general wine knowledge.
  • Excellent communication and networking skills, both verbal and written.
  • Proficient in learning payment processing systems, Microsoft Excel and Word. Knowledge of using Mailchimp, basic design publishers, Instagram, and Facebook Business is a plus.
  • Must be able to lift 35lbs and stand for long periods of time.
  • 21 years or older with a valid WA Driver’s License and must obtain a MAST permit.
