Job description

The Marketing and Promotions Specialist is responsible for executing PCC Community Markets marketing campaigns to support seasonal, departmental and co-op wide promotions at all PCC stores.

 

Main Job Responsibilities
  • Manages the cross-functional efforts between the Merchandising and Marketing Teams to ensure planning, communication, and execution throughout promotional timelines
  • Works with the Promotions Manager to , providing clear direction to shape seasonal promotional strategies and goals
  • Optimizes the co-op’s promotional go-to-market process. Assesses program strengths and identifies areas for improvement
  • Ensures Merchandising and Operations teams properly execute promotions and programs consistently, on time and on brand
  • Captures, analyzes, and delivers marketing campaign recaps to the Promotions Manager
  • Supports store grand opening activities and drives customer loyalty promotional activities and grand opening signage
  • Prioritizes understanding the needs of the store staff and makes decisions based on practical application and user experience
  • Actively and consistently seeks feedback from store teams in order to create long-term best practices
  • Conducts regular market research trips to stay informed of general trends impacting the grocery industry
  • Maintains inventory of all promotional materials that we keep year to year. Orders and maintains hardware for in-store promotion signage

 

 

Reporting Relationships

Reports to: Promotions Manager

Qualifications and Skills
  • 1-3 years marketing experience required
  • Retail experince required, grocery retail and in-store marketing a plus
  • Demonstrated understanding of how to leverage advertising, PR, social media and digital to amplify the in-store experience for our diverse customer base
  • Strong knowledge of project management fundamentals
  • Excellent verbal, interpersonal and written communication skills and ability, remotely and in person
  • Ability to work in a constantly changing, fast-paced environment while maintaining a positive customer service orientation toward staff and public
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize and problem solve with excellent attention to detail
  • Intermediate level of computer skills and proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe, and Wrike
  • Ability to be a team player and appreciate working collaboratively across the organization as well as independently
  • Demonstrated self-motivation and the ability to anticipate problems and follow through to complete tasks successfully
  • Available to work a flexible schedule, and able to travel to all PCC locations and to other work-related locations
