What we are looking for:
We’re looking for a market and products manager to manage the Socrates Park Saturday Farmer’s Market as well as other specialty markets, manage the distribution of our CSA, head up our wholesale for small batch products (primarily hot sauces), coordinate with our chefs for production/creation of wholesale products, and manage of our internet presence. Our internet presence includes social media (Instagram) and our website, including an online store. The Market Manager will coordinate with the Farm Managers to ensure our produce gets to customers. Some garden assistance in Queens is available, with the amount depending on interest, which includes our nursery, green roof garden for market crops, herbs, and flowers, and supporting our composting program. We are looking for someone with an eagerness to join a start-up and willingness to help continue building this farm.
We expect the base hours for this position to be 20-30 hours/week (varies seasonally) with opportunity for additional hours/responsibilities depending on interest. This is a new and evolving position and we are open to working with the right person to create a flexible schedule outside of the days mentioned below. Flexible start date, some hours available for training and holiday markets in 2021, base hours to begin by April 2022.
What are the expectations of the Manager?

Be able to lift and move 30 lbs
- Be the face of our company: the Marketing Manager will be the point of contact for our customers and represent our farm and values to the public.

Have a drivers license and be comfortable driving in NYC. A personal vehicle is desirable but not required

Be comfortable by phone or in person interacting with businesses for wholesale

Be self motivated for making sales and keeping track of accounting
Please note: Our market is Saturdays (during the day) and our CSA distribution is Monday evenings. Prep/packing for these distributions is on Friday afternoons. While some time off can be arranged, candidates must be available for the majority of Friday afternoons, Saturdays, and Monday evenings for our market season, May-October and also for additional markets such as holidays, Honeyfest, etc.
Compensation: $15-$18/hr depending on experience. Wholesale portion for products may be by commission, to be discussed. Vegetables from the farm.
