Grocery Specialist
Pinnacle Prevention is seeking a full-time Grocery Specialist who will support Double Up Food Bucks Arizona program implementation at brick-and-mortar storefronts across Arizona. We offer a flexible work environment emphasizing a balance of time working in the office, home, and out in the community. Our office environment is pet and family-friendly meaning it is not uncommon to find a little one, whether on four legs or two, playing at our feet during meetings – a nontraditional approach that the ideal candidate will feel comfortable with. The Pinnacle Prevention office is located in downtown Chandler, Arizona in a bike/pedestrian friendly environment.

 

This is an exempt full-time position with an annual salary of $50,000 commensurate with experience. The Grocery Specialist is primarily responsible for the implementation and expansion of Pinnacle Prevention’s SNAP fruit and vegetable incentive program (Double Up Food Bucks Arizona). This position will focus on the unique needs of brick-and-mortar retail partners, including corner stores, grocery stores, and hybrid retail environments located in rural and/or tribal communities.

 

SNAP incentive responsibilities include (~80% of your time):

  • Develop a deep understanding of and continuously improve Double Up program goals, operations, and strategy to support the needs of Double Up shoppers within grocery environments
  • Design and implement, in partnership with each unique retailer, SNAP incentive delivery model and onboarding materials to ensure programmatic success
  • Train Double Up grocery managers in program administration, outreach, and reporting
  • Conduct site visits and provide reliable support and technical assistance to grocery managers
  • Support the integrity of the Arizona-grown requirement of SNAP fruit and vegetable incentive by identifying opportunities for growth alongside retail partners and the farming community
  • Be a constant advocate for positive retail experiences of Double Up shoppers while centering care, dignity, and justice
  • Guide creation of marketing and promotional materials tailored to grocery environments
  • Work with Pinnacle Prevention team to identify key retail partner metrics and manage data analysis to drive scalable growth strategies; strategize on grocery expansion plans; generate and contact new Double Up retail partner leads

 

General operations responsibilities include (~20% of your time):

  • Collaborate with Pinnacle Prevention team in strategic planning and decision-making
  • Engage in professional development
  • Participate in meetings, community events, and otherwise contribute to the mission and strengthening the impact of the overall work of Pinnacle Prevention
 

Qualifications

  • Education or related work experience in grocery, nonprofit, and/or public health program settings
  • Experience in developing trusted relationships while holding vendors and partners accountable
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational and project management skills
  • Flexibility and adaptability
  • Ability to provide in-person and online trainings to adult learners
  • Ability to work in office, remotely, and outdoors in the community
  • Ability to work some evenings and weekends
  • Must be able to drive a vehicle and maintain a valid driver's license because driving will be an aspect of your job duties in this role
