Job description

The Customer Service Manager is responsible for leading and coordinating the activities of our Customer Service team in addition to providing direct customer service to Garbage to Garden participants. The Customer Service Manager’s goal is to keep the department running in an efficient manner, to increase customer satisfaction, loyalty, and retention, and to exceed their expectations. As a member of the leadership team, you will participate in the development of overall company wide policies and provide input into short and long term planning.

Responsibilities and duties:

  • Manage the Customer Service/Dispatch Department day-to-day operations
  • Handle all communications confidently in a knowledgeable, articulate, and friendly manner
  • Create, delegate, and track service requests
  • Take ownership of customers issues and follow problems through to resolution
  • Communicate job expectations to Customer Service team members
  • Improve customer service experience, create engaged customers and facilitate organic growth
  • Communicate information related to new services, products, and procedures
  • Develop service procedures, policies and standards
  • Keep accurate records and document customer service actions and discussions
  • Recruit, mentor and develop customer service agents and nurture an environment where they can excel through encouragement and empowerment
  • Maintain an orderly workflow according to priorities
  • Lead weekly team meetings
  • Accomplish customer service human resource objectives by participating in the recruitment, selection, training, performance management, and coaching of employees
  • Work with our finance department to ensure accuracy of all residential accounts receivable
  • Provide direct customer service - answer calls and respond to emails, leading by example and providing exceptional service and the right resolutions for our customers

Qualifications:

  • Experience as a team manager of direct reports in a Customer Service environment - supervising and motivating others
  • Ability to provide relevant feedback and address performance related issues
  • Ability to prioritize and organize effectively in a fast paced, changing environment
  • Fluency in English
  • Advanced problem solving and multitasking skills
  • Strong client-facing and communication skills
  • Customer service mindset
  • Experience with Google suite and other basic software applications
  • Outstanding record of reliability and attendance
  • Available to work Monday-Friday 8:00am-4:30pm
