Job Description

Culinary Department

Holistic Chef Teaching Assistant (Part-Time)

Remote, 20 hours variable, non-exempt

Company Description

Since 1989, Bauman College has been preparing students for careers in holistic nutrition and culinary arts.

Bauman’s model is a whole-foods approach based on seasonal, organic, unprocessed, and local foods emphasizing bio-individuality.

The Holistic Chef Program at Bauman College offers a fresh take on the culinary arts by training students in the professional execution of nutrition-based restorative cooking.  Our approach emphasizes nutritional and restorative cooking techniques and recipes. Our graduates go on to work as personal chefs, restaurant chefs, caterers, food educators, entrepreneurs, and consultants. We also discuss food from a broader societal perspective as it relates to climate change, food justice, food traditions, and more.

Our program is 100% online and primarily asynchronous for students, with a virtual class being held approximately once a week. Students access coursework through a learning management system, utilize electronic textbooks for reading and reference, and access their recipes online, plus several other platforms to facilitate learning. The program is 12 months in length. Our cohorts can hold 5-40 students at a time, and appropriate teacher-to-student ratios are maintained for individualized attention.

We are looking to expand our instructional team and are actively seeking a diverse workforce. We are recruiting candidates in accordance with diversity, equity, inclusion, and equal opportunity policies and encourage all who think they may be a fit for this position to apply. Enthusiasm and a passion for the work are highly considered in our screening processes.
