Captain Al Coro

  • Date Posted February 06, 2022
  • Location New York, NY
  • Category Business / Culinary
  • Job type Full-Time
Company description Jeff and James were introduced by a mutual friend in late 2017. They gambled on each other and partnered to open a pair of restaurants and a cocktail bar in the landmark Art Deco building at 70 Pine Street in Manhattan’s Financial District. Crown Shy, the first of those restaurants, opened in March of 2019 and earned a Michelin star less than a year later. After many months of pandemic-related delays, the duo opened SAGA and Overstory in the building’s tiered spire.

In the summer of 2021, Kent and Katz partnered with Melissa Rodriguez to take over the restaurant space at 85 Tenth Avenue. They will be opening three concepts there: Al Coro, a fine-dining Italian restaurant, Mel's, a pizza restaurant, and Discolo, a cocktail bar. Job description

As a Captain at Al Coro, you will be responsible for guiding and enhancing service from the initial greet through the guests’ departure, ensuring a thoughtful and engaged service and willingness for guests’ return. You will also be tasked with leading your team through a detail-focused service and creating calm in high-pressure situations. Your commitment to company standards and values is a must.

At Al Coro we value our employees and are committed to creating an inclusive and welcoming work culture. We believe in a ‘whole house’ mentality and we expect all departments (Pastry, Savory, Dining Room, and Facilities) to support and motivate each other to achieve our goal of guest satisfaction. As an employee, you will interact with all of these departments regularly and should be able to communicate effectively and respectfully with your co-workers & managers.

Al Coro is anticipated to open in March 2022.

This is a full time position and requires flexible schedule availability: including nights, weekends and lunches. The restaurant will be closed for Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, and Christmas Day.
