Job descriptionThis is a year-round job with the chance for increased hours during busier seasons throughout the year. Team members also have the chance to get involved in other aspects of the business they may be interested in, and we're always looking to promote from within!
Responsibilities
- Arrive on time and work quickly and efficiently
- Maintain a clear and organized work station
- Weigh and pack diverse range on ingredients, including fruits, mushrooms, vegetables, eggs, cheese, and meat
- Execute quality control and maintain high standards of ingredients being distributed
- Receive, weigh, stage, and palletize product accurately and efficiently
- Execute FIFO on all inventory
- Communicate clearly with Local Roots staff
- Maintain efficient systems and complete tasks in a brisk manner
- Navigate order processing backend platform to check on orders and update weekly varieties of ingredients
- Input inventory into electronic tracking system
- Format and print home delivery labels and other materials as needed
Qualifications
- 6 months warehouse, kitchen, or farm experience
- Self-starter, team player
- Fast-paced worker who is always looking to find more efficient systems
- Offers ideas to help the team and takes directions well
- Excellent communication and listening skills
- An independent worker
- Has an open mind and willingness and ability to accept feedback
- Warehouse, grocery, or delivery experience
- Great attention to detail — you won’t let any sad looking veggies be included in customers’ orders
- The ability to routinely lift and carry 50 lb boxes and stand all day
- Punctual, extremely reliable
Availability and Compensation
Monday-Thursday, 8am-4:30pm
Friday (only occasionally), 9am-3pm
This position year-round with 30-35 hours of work per week
