King David Tacos is a woman-owned and Brooklyn-founded business, established in June 2016. We bring one of the best exports from Austin, TX to the daily lives of New Yorkers: breakfast tacos.

Before KDT, New York City (arguably the world’s center of food culture and influence) had been devoid of real breakfast tacos (arguably the perfect breakfast food) for too long. But beyond being Tex-Mex-obsessed, it is our belief that NYC is in need of better on-the-go breakfast. 

KDT has wholesale, retail, and catering arms of the business. We specialize in grab'n'go breakfast tacos that are simple and delicious, are created for everyday enjoyment without guilt, and are tailored to the fast-paced lifestyle and discerning tastes of New Yorkers.

We are hiring Retail Attendants for our brick and mortar location in Prospect Heights, located in the front of our HQ / Production Facility. 

KDT opened NYC's first breakfast taco carts--in Prospect Park (Sept 2017), in the Financial District (Nov 2017), and in Madison Square Park (June 2019). We opened our first brick & mortar in May 2021.

Our Retail Attendants serve as the face of the company at our headquarters and our only brand-owned retail, where we can provide an engaging, memorable and smooth experience featuring a KDT menu you can't get elsewhere.

Our critically-acclaimed breakfast tacos are served grab'n'go style--tailored to the fast-paced mornings of New Yorkers. They are made fresh each morning and wrapped individually, as such, there is minimal food prep required in this role.

Food and drink service is limited to coffee (drip), sodas, beer/wine (bottled), and light assembly and heating of prepared items (e.g. portioning queso & chips or toasting items). Additionally, Retail Attendants are required to manage food safety, monitor inventory, prepare for service, address facility and customer needs both indoors and outdoors, and perform opening and/or closing duties.

We are looking for people with 2 to 6 shifts per week availability. We are soon expanding our hours on Fri / Sat / Sun, and have the following shifts available:

6:30a-11:30a 
10:30a-3:30p

Fri
6:30a-12:30p
11:30a-5:00p
1:30a-7:30p

Sat / Sun
6:30a-2:00p
9:30a-5:00p
11:30-7:30p

This is a great job for people looking for more flexibility in their schedule, or who love working in food but want to leave their evenings free.

***Our Retail Attendants are paid $12 hourly + pooled tips. You are guaranteed at least $15 per hour if tips do not reach that threshold, but tips usually average another $8-$15 additional per hour).***

Qualifications

- Experience in front-of-house foodservice or retail a major plus

- Food Protection Certification receives $13/hr starting

- Customer-service minded

- Team player with a can-do attitude - a good sense of humor is always a plus!

- Ability to identify and resolve problems efficiently and effectively

- Ability to maneuver and communicate with accuracy, clarity and speed

- Reliable and accountable

- Basic math skills and experience with point-of-sale
