We’re looking for a full-time head barista that is passionate about really good coffee and is comfortable taking the lead in running the cafe smoothly. This role will work alongside the Cafe Manager and include the opportunity to help create new drinks.

Responsibilities include:

• Make delicious espresso drinks (latte art is a plus), teas, and mixed drinks
• Have extensive knowledge of dialing in espresso
• Maintain and troubleshoot any issues with equipment, including espresso machine
• Perform quality control throughout the day to ensure drinks are up to standard
• Manage a small team of baristas
• Own customer interactions and create a positive experience, including addressing customer questions and concerns
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the cafe, making sure everything is adhering to food safety guidelines
• Comfortably navigate the Clover system 
• Track inventory and place orders as needed
• Know and oversee opening and closing procedures

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a barista (minimum 1 year)
• NY State Food Protection Certified
• Able to work self-sufficiently to lead a small team
• Able to work weekends
• Able to lift heavy objects and remain standing/active for an extended period of time
