The Position: Information Technology Administrator

 

About the Teff Company: The Teff Company has a diverse clientele base, including Ethiopian and Eritrean store owners and restauranteurs. Teff is best known as the primary ingredient in injera, a fermented flat bread, but we are continuing to explore different applications for this tasty, nutritious, and versatile ancient grain. You’ll be joining a fast-growing entrepreneurial company working to deliver high quality teff and teff-based products to consumers and manufacturers in the United States.

 

About the Position: The Information Technology Administrator is responsible for administering the Teff Company’s information technology infrastructure, including hardware, software, network and networking devices. You’ll also be communicating with 3rd parties where they manage any elements of The Teff Company’s IT infrastructure. You’ll be joining a fast-growing entrepreneurial company working to deliver high quality teff and teff-based products to consumers and manufacturers.

 

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Maintain essential IT operations, including operating systems, security tools, applications, servers, email systems, laptops, desktops, software, and hardware
  • Identify problematic areas and implement strategic solutions in time and in coordination with company management, relevant departments and employees
  • Develop strategic IT plans and track to achieve or exceed business goals
  • Serve as primary NetSuite administrator, providing ongoing system/technical support and training to internal users
  • Plan, review, and revise feature NetSuite configurations and customizations to meet evolving business and operational needs
  • Proactively train The Teff Company employees in the proper use of company IT assets
  • Maintain appropriate accounts/access for The Teff Company employees or relevant 3rd parties
  • Manage and coordinate third parties managing elements of The Teff Companies tech ecosystem, such as web hosting companies
  • Communicate IT issues, particularly issues affecting Teff Company employee job performance, to company management and/or relevant affected employees
  • Collaborate with other company departments to address department IT needs or remedy issues
  • Be available during standard business hours for solving employee IT issues and remain on-call after-hours for critical systems such as website operations or IT security
  • Design, develop, implement and coordinate systems, policies and procedures
  • Ensure security of data, network access and backup systems

 

Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree with CS or IT emphasis preferred
  • Experience with Oracle NetSuite preferred

 

  • 3-5 years’ experience in IT management or similar role preferred
  • Excellent knowledge of technical management, information analysis and of computer hardware/software systems
  • Ability to develop and implement IT infrastructure in collaboration with other stakeholders
  • Self-motivated, curious, and comfortable with ambiguity typical of a small, growing company
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Creative problem solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to work independently or collaboratively, as required, to complete projects and initiatives
  • Willing and able to adapt and flex to frequently changing internal and external environments
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Exchange

Compensation and Benefits: The Teff Company offers a competitive salary, depending on experience.  We provide two weeks’ paid time off to start (PTO); PTO then increases based on years of service.   Benefits include a comprehensive package for medical, dental, vision and EAP services; plan coverage begins on the first of the month following 60 days of employment. Monthly premium amounts vary depending upon full time or part time status and the tier of coverage.  Company perks include teff products and baked goods, field visits, staff luncheons and the opportunity to learn more about teff and its cultural value and nutritional profile.
