Recipe Cook for Photography Natural Grocers

Recipe-Cook for the Natural Grocers Food Photographer.
Responsibilities include
1. Participate in phone check-in and planning meetings with the Food Photographer, social media, and Video Production teams to discuss recipes.
2. Review recipes and prepare a shopping list for obtaining recipe ingredients.
3. Check the food pantry for staple items before shopping the store for the ingredients.
4. Shop the store for the needed recipe ingredients using the Natural Grocers Recipe Demo Expense Card to purchase items.
5. Collaborate with the Food Photographer to plan photography timing, food garnish, plating etc.
6. Collaborate with the social media and Video Production teams for specific content needs.
7. Prep food items and cook according to recipe instructions.
a. Must be comfortable preparing food on camera and video.
b. Provide feedback when necessary, regarding recipe timing, etc.
8. Clean the demonstration kitchen (following the SOP guidelines) after the photography session.
Although this is a general outline of service responsibilities you are expected to be “hands on” and do whatever it takes to get the job done and make the food photography session successful.
Recipe for Success:
1. Must have cooking/culinary skills and some nutrition knowledge.
2. Some knowledge of food styling/prop styling.
3. All cooking for all recipes will occur in a designated Natural Grocers Demo Kitchen.
a. Natural Grocers will provide the recipes and funds to pay for all ingredients.
b. The Independent Contractor will work directly with Bonni Pacheco, the Food
Photographer and Stylist as well as the Video Production and social media teams.
4. Shooting days require four to five (5-7-hour) days per month.
5. The workdays will be planned and scheduled in advance.
6. The work will be preformed Monday through Friday.
7. The Independent Contractor will track the hours for conducting the responsibilities and submit documentation to the Food Photographer at the end of each photography session. Compensation this position is : hourly, $20/hr + Application instructions
