Culinary Editorial Fellowship Description

Food Network and Cooking Channel are looking for an editorial intern in the Culinary Editorial Department, starting late August. A passion for food is required. Teams prefer a full-time (40/hr/week) commitment, including 3 on-site and 2 remote days, but if you are the right candidate that might be negotiable around a school schedule. The fellowship pays $17/hr, with health benefits provided through DZConnex (the payroll company). We ask for an initial commitment of 4 months if this is the right fit, with a possible extension to 6 months.

Responsibilities include:

-Forecasting and researching food and pop culture trends

-Researching culinary content for television shows, digital video series and articles

-Helping editors with project management for recipe production

-Pitching and writing posts for the FN Dish blog

-Pitching ideas for recipes and social videos

-Writing weekly newsletter

We will also provide experience and training in the following:

-Recipe editing with accuracy and speed

-Working in multiple content management systems and archives

-Writing articles and flat content for digital platforms

-Customer service research and resolutions

-Culinary library maintenance

-Administrative responsibilities

Strong candidates will possess enthusiasm, a vigorous work ethic, strong editing and writing skills, an exceptional attention to detail and a love of food and cooking. We value applicants with a digital editorial background--be that in media or experience running a popular Instagram or TikTok account--or a demonstrable knowledge of and strong interest in the food media landscape.
