Food Service Cook-Site Leader (Temporary) 

August 25th-November 30th

Killington Elementary School 

The (WCUD) Windsor Central Unified School Nutrition Program has an opening for a temporary Cook Site-Leader at the Killington Elementary School (KES).  Main responsibilities include grab & go breakfast service when students arrive, all aspects of food preparation, cafeteria lunch service and cleaning responsibilities, ordering weekly menu items, and monitoring inventory & spreadsheets.Culinary and kitchen experience required. 

 

This is a school year position, 7 hours per day, 35 hours per week, 7:00am-2:00pm. Salary starts at $18.54/hr and increases with experience and education. Benefit information available upon request. Position begins on August 25th, 2022 and ends November 30th, 2022. 

 

Primary Responsibilities and Qualifications:

Use safe food handling procedures according to VT Department of Health Food & Lodging regulations

Breakfast and lunch meal preparation

Wash and sanitize meal service area, dishes and pans

Able to work as a team player within the school and within the school nutrition program

Must enjoy working with children and school staff

Must be able to use a computer to access food ordering systems and monitor spreadsheets

Serve Safe certification required or can be obtained within the first month of employment

 

Working Conditions: 

Mental Demands: calculating, comparing, problem-solving, evaluating, interpreting, organizing, consulting, analyzing, planning, documenting, specifying, coordinating, implementing, and presenting.

 

Physical Demands: sitting, standing, climbing stairs, adjusting, connecting, lifting (to 50 lbs.), bending, bending at different angles, keyboarding, pulling, pushing, carrying, writing, and operating equipment. 

 

Environmental Conditions; inside, slippery surfaces, chemical exposure, biological exposure, working around moving objects, working alone, working in hot temperatures.
