Company description Lea Brooklyn is a neighborhood specialty food market with a gelato shop, bakery & Italian kitchen. With a commitment to technique & hand-crafted food production, Lea Brooklyn has grown into a multi-faceted food destination in Ditmas Park, Brooklyn.  Job description We are seeking a full-time pastry cook for our Gelato and Sweet Shop. At Sweet Lea, we serve hand-crafted gelatos and sorbets as well as a full selection of cakes, pies, cookies and more!

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Proper scaling of ingredients
Maintaining a clean, neat, and organized work station
Preparing all menu items; following recipes and yield guides
Ability to multitask

Qualifications and Requirements:
One to two years of pastry experience
Ability to work independently and efficiently
Ability to ice and decorate cakes.
Ability to make Gelato

Early morning availability required
Knowledge of Viennoiserie bake off
Knowledge of dough mixing and scaling
Experience in a bakery or kitchen environment
Knowledge of laminated puff pastry
Ability to work weekends required
Must be able to communicate effectively with coworkers, management, and guests
Must be able to stand for periods of up to eight hours
Must be at least 18 years old
Able to move up and down stairs for up to eight hours
Able to lift and carry 50lbs up and down stairs
