SUMMARY

Reporting to the Little Saint Assistant General Manager and under the general direction and guidance of the Director of Retail Strategy, the Retail Specialist will oversee the daily operations of our Little Saint non-wine Retail experience.  They will lead receiving and restocking efforts, carry out the floor merchandising plan in collaboration with the Director of Retail Strategy and the Floral Manager, assist and educate guests on all products, and ensure the neat and clean appearance of the retail space. This individual  must possess an infectious enthusiasm for our one-of-a-kind retail products, food and sustainability and the ability to clearly communicate with guests and be a strong team player. This individual should also possess strong communication and collaboration skills, as this role will liaise with multiple departments to ensure the successful execution of the retail space from a visual and operational standpoint. 


ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversee operations in the retail space and assist with inventory and placing reorders
  • Communicate product stories with guests and ignite excitement within the team to increase sales
  • Assist in educating cross-functional teams on new products and merchandise stories
  • Support farm and floral teams in maintaining a bountiful and beautiful farm presence, including assisting with produce ordering and display maintenance 
  • Build seasonal visual merchandising strategies in collaboration with Retail Director and Floral Manager and maintain displays
  • Maintain organization of backstock and execute monthly inventory audits
  • Collaborate with managers and marketing team on messaging new products via digital channels
  • Collect guest feedback and work with manager to address and comments and requests
  • Execute warm hospitality retail shopping experience in alignment with restaurants and drive sales
  • Address customer complaints/feedback in a professional manner
  • Attention to detail for both merchandise displays and organization of backstock
  • Uphold compliance with all legal, health and safety guidelines
 

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

  • 2+ years of retail experience preferred
  • Excited about championing local and small batch producers and artisans
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present information
  • Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail.
  • Excellent computer competency, e.g. well versed in PC and/or Mac based MS Office, POS and inventory management systems
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities under time constraints
  • Professional interpersonal and communication skills
  • Creative problem solving and critical decision-making skills
  • Ability to work a varying schedule to include evenings, holidays and extended hours as business dictates.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to work in a standing position for long periods of time, and frequently lift up to 50 pounds
  • Be able to walk, bend, stoop, kneel, climb, push/pull, and reach
  • Continual use of manual dexterity and gross motor skills with frequent use of bi-manual dexterity and fine motor skills
