Job description The Pastry Chef will be responsible for all aspects of pastry production, including but not limited to all laminated products. Additionally, the Pastry Chef will be expected to develop and produce new products (collaborating with the Head Baker), and be responsible for fitting them into the daily production schedule. The Pastry Chef will also be responsible for training any baker(s) hired to assist with pastry production. This position has growth potential as we continue to expand our product line and operation.


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Mixing, laminating, preparing and baking of all pastry products  
  • Assisting with recipe and product development 
  • Training and guidance of pastry team members 
  • Ingredient  inventory  
  • Cleaning and maintaining of the bakery space, as well as filling out associated logbooks

  • Able to adhere to health and safety regulations 
  • Able to keep a clean and tidy kitchen 
  • You may be asked to work scheduled overtime around the major holidays (July 4th, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas). This time will be scheduled well in advance.

Prerequisites

  • Minimum 3 years baking experience
  • Experience with all aspects of  laminated dough work
  • Experience with yeasted and naturally leavened enriched doughs
  • Leadership/Team management experience 
  • Ability to work proficiently  in a team environment, as well as alone
  • Proficiency with Google Sheets 
  • Valid driver's license required to fulfill job duties
