Michael Drapkin, the founder of one of New York’s most recognizable independent wine shops, expands his passion for natural, organic, and biodynamic wine to South Florida.

In 2013, Michael founded Kingston Wine Co., a wine shop in Kingston, NY, which quickly became a national wine destination,  dubbed “the high priestess of natural wine shops.”

West Palm Wine Co. will also place a strong emphasis on small production, well-farmed, ethically-produced wine. What makes this project so exciting and singular is that there are no shops of this kind throughout this entire part of South Florida. We will be bringing a product we love and care about deeply to a thirsty local community. 

 

Job description We are looking for someone who is passionate, experienced and knowledgeable about wine. This is an exciting opportunity to be on the ground floor of a new business and work alongside the owner to prepare for our opening in May.

Day to Day responsibilities will include assisting customers on the sales floor, tasting with suppliers alongside Michael, attending portfolio tastings, opening and closing the store, receiving product and stocking, keeping the store looking fresh, and data entry. You will also have the opportunity to have input on the wine selection and grow to make buying decisions autonomously for specific regions of interest. Once more staff comes aboard the GM will also be responsible for scheduling and training staff on how we do things at WPWCo. The work environment will be inspiring, educational, kind, and fair.  

The position includes 3 weeks of paid vacation, health care subsidy, wine education support via the WSET, and for the right candidate a moving stipend.
