Job description

Service Manager is responsible for overseeing floor management, maintaining exceptional guest relations, and ensuring quality standards.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

Working under the general supervision of the General Manager/Beverage Director (GM/BD) and Assistant General Manager / Beverage Director (Asst. GM/BD),

  • Manage nightly service operations and supervise staff. Solve problems and assist as needed.
  • Assume opening and closing duties of the restaurant.
  • Ensure service standards are being met while working to achieve operational excellence. 
  • Assist with all phases of the hiring process for FOH staff. 
  • Work with Oleana Managers to train staff on food, beverage, service, hospitality, and other applicable topics.
  • Create training materials and ensure materials are kept up-to-date.
  • Create effective training strategies.
  • Work with Oleana Managers to monitor, assess, and develop FOH staff performance.
  • Assist with reservation management and managing reservation systems.
  • Book and plan all large group dinner reservations.
  • Create and develop guest relations protocols; Build relationships with regular and interested guests.
  • Work with team members to create and maintain a culture that ensures that guest needs are met at every point of their Oleana experience.
  • Ensure facility is clean, comfortable, and aesthetically pleasing at all times
  • Respond to guest inquiries and complaints.
  • Maintain menu descriptions and allergy charts.
  • Maintain FOH staff sidework charts for dinner service and events.
  • Manage take out station.
  • Oversee drygoods ordering for FOH needs and liaise with representatives as needed.
  • Order other specific FOH items from various vendors as needed.
  • Coordinate staff birthdays and last days.
  • Meet with Oleana management teams regularly for consultation, coordination, and brainstorming.
  • Provide leadership, acts as a role model of appropriate behavior in the workplace, enforces company policy and procedures, and upholds quality standards. 
  • Maintain company culture to champion vision, values, and uphold staff morale.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

  • At least 3 years of relevant FOH work experience in a similar setting
  • Management experience is preferred but not required
  • Passion for hospitality, food, wine, and the overall guest experience
  • Strong communication skills, judgment, and professionalism
  • Empathetic, kind, and patient
  • Lead by example
  • Proactive and self-motivated
  • Be able to multi-task and work well under pressure
  • Be curious about learning
  • Always act in the best interest of the team
  • Flexibility to work nights and weekends

COMPENSATION

This is an exempt, salaried position. Salary will be based on experience.
