We are currently seeking a Chef to join our team. The responsibilities of this role include developing our weekly menus, building and managing a kitchen team, and optimizing ingredient usage to monitor food costs.
- Menu Planning and Development: Create and design innovative, safe, and scalable weekly menus that align with our company concept and target audience.
- Work with Menu Creator to create 5-day menu plans and recipes every two months, while maintaining flexibility to cater to various client dietary needs and food preferences within that week.
- Food Preparation and Cooking: Oversee the preparation and cooking of daily food items, ensuring they meet quality standards, taste expectations, and presentation guidelines
- Kitchen Management: Manage all aspects of kitchen operations, including staff scheduling, inventory management, and adherence to food safety regulations.
- Team Leadership: Lead and supervise kitchen staff, providing guidance, training, and support as needed in preparing and cooking weekly menus. Delegate tasks effectively to ensure smooth workflow and efficient operations.
- Quality Control: Implement quality control measures to maintain high standards of food quality, taste, presentation, and consistency. Conduct regular inspections to identify areas for improvement.
- Place weekly orders with restaurants and food vendors in accordance with the weekly menu, ensuring scalability within menu design, and timely delivery of ingredients and supplies
- Cost Control: Monitor food costs by optimizing ingredient usage, minimizing waste, and controlling portion sizes. Finding and negotiating with suppliers to optimize expenses while ordering meals, and ingredients, aiming to minimize lunch production costs without compromising quality.
- Work with our production, operations, and customer service teams to update weekly menus based on customer feedback, operations efficacy, costs, and product quality standards
- Research and Innovation: Stay updated with current culinary trends, new ingredients, techniques, and innovations in the food industry. Introduce new dishes or concepts to keep the menu fresh and appealing.
- Health and Safety Compliance: Ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene regulations, including proper handling, storage, and sanitation practices. Conduct regular training sessions to reinforce these practices among the kitchen staff.
- Culinary Expertise: Possess extensive knowledge and skills in various cooking techniques, cuisines, and food preparation methods.
- Leadership Skills: Ability to lead and manage a team of kitchen staff effectively, including assigning tasks, providing guidance, and ensuring smooth operations.
- Menu Planning and Development: Proficiency in creating innovative and appealing menus that cater to different dietary preferences while considering cost-effectiveness and seasonal availability of ingredients.
- Food Safety and Hygiene: Thorough understanding of food safety regulations, HACCP principles, and proper handling, storage, and sanitation practices in the kitchen.

- Budgeting and Cost Control: Experience in managing food costs by optimizing ingredient usage, minimizing waste, negotiating with suppliers, and maintaining inventory control.
- Adaptability: Flexibility to work in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities while maintaining consistency in food quality.
- Training and Development: Willingness to mentor junior chefs, provide training opportunities for skill enhancement, and foster a positive learning environment within the kitchen.
