The new Finca Tres Robles
Through a collaboration with Harris County, Small Places is RELOCATING Finca Tres Robles to a new 1.5 acre 40 year home on an improved tract of land just 1 block from our original home!
This new home will include a new neighborhood food store, teaching kitchen, and pavilion for our community and a new post-harvest station and offices for our team.

As a farmer founded nonprofit, we understand the challenges of being a farmer and starting a farm business. We look to share the realities of the work to those interested in the career of farming through a structured, supported, and safe place to learn the skills, resilience, and growing philosophies to provide a road to a successful career in agriculture.
Our Lead Farm Manager will direct the operations of the new Finca Tres Robles 1.5 acre urban farm supported by the Executive Director and Director of Operations who bring over 25 years of combined farming and operations experience.
The Lead Farm Manager will support the new farm's opening including updating our farm’s internal processes and working with our Executive Director to develop plans for our USDA supported Farm Apprenticeship program (3 FT salaried apprentices) set to begin in the Summer of 2024.
Once the farm reopens in May of 2024, the Lead Farm Manager will oversee farm operations including seasonal planting plans, daily and weekly farm work and the management of all Apprentices (3) and farm staff.
Beyond farming, the Lead Farm Manager will assist in other farm activities as agreed upon, including farm tours, educational programming support and seasonal farm events. While this is primarily a farming position, our farm is a well-trafficked location for our community and the Lead Farm Manager will be interacting with our community on a consistent basis. This position will be supported by an Assistant Farm Manager who manages the harvest and distribution aspects of the farm and 3 FT farm apprentices.

Start Date: February 1, 2024
Hours: 40-50 hours a week (depending on the season), 5 days per week
Salary: $55,000 - $63,000
Other Benefits: $400/month health savings account, farm produce, 3 weeks PTO
Expected Experience:
3-5+ years of Farm Management experience
2+ years experience in urban ag and agritourism (prioritized but not required)
Proficient in Gmail, Google Docs, Google sheets, TEND (app)
Committed to personal growth and accountability
Willingness to work outdoors in Houston’s weather and ability to lift 50+lbs regularly
Speak Spanish (prioritized but not required)
