Ellison Estate Vineyard (EEV) is a family run 50-acre regenerative farm and vineyard on Lake Champlain in Grand Isle Vermont. The winery is located about 1 hour away in the bustling ski town of Stowe, Vermont. EEV incorporates organic and biodynamic practices to craft Old-World style natural wine from one of the oldest and largest single plantings of grapevines in Vermont.

Ellison Estate Vineyard (EEV) is opening an elevated Vermont Tasting Space in the heart of downtown Stowe that will feature wine tastings, glass pours, and bottle sales of EEV’s vibrant natural wines. The Tasting Space will also feature local cheeses like Jasper Hill & Sage Farm, along with local charcuterie and bread. In addition to wine tasting flights, the customers can experience cheese flights and charcuterie flights, alongside exquisite cheese/charcuterie boards. Local non-alcoholic drinks will be available as well. Ellison Estate Vineyard sheepskins and other select farm products will be featured as well as Mooring Hill Farm flowers. The concept is to create an authentic Vermont tasting experience, where an appreciation of the farm, where the products come from, and terroir, is emphasized in an elegant cozy downtown space. Retail sales of products that can be tasted will be available for purchase to bring the experience home. The Tasting Space hours are planned for 11:30-5:30 Wednesday-Sunday.  
 

EEV is looking to incorporate a motivated individual to the management team. This person will be in charge of executing and continuing to build the Tasting Space concept alongside the owners. This individual will be the curator of the customer experience and oversee day-to-day Tasting Space operations. EEV is seeking a charismatic, positive individual to provide leadership in this endeavor and excellent customer service. This person should be passionate about local Vermont products and wine, thrilled to create an elevated hospitality experience, and excited about working for a small family owned and operated agricultural business. This individual should also be motivated to aid in and direct EEV marketing/sales related tasks.  
 

Desired Qualifications:

  • At least 1 year of hospitality experience 
  • Wine knowledge and experience working in the wine industry (wine sales, service and/or production)
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Consistent attention to detail
  • Marketing and sales experience 
  • Flexible, creative, and able to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to take direction, ask for help/clarity, and give/accept constructive feedback
  • Retail management experience a plus
  • Experience in local food/agriculture industry a plus


Responsibilities:

  • Oversight of daily Tasting Space operations
  • Pricing and point-of-sale management
  • Manage inventory and ordering of local products
  • Create appealing displays of products as needed
  • Ensure there is always accurate in-store and external signage for all products
  • Help establish marketing needs, promotions, etc.
  • Communicate closely with owners to solve problems and keep them up to date on Tasting Space activities
  • Help organize and orchestrate paired dinners with guest chefs approximately every other month in space
  • Help organize and orchestrate FLOCK, wine club events/releases in space
  • Help train additional retail staff as needed
Compensation this position is : hourly, $20/hr + Application instructions
