Company description Apricot Lane Farms is a 234-acre organic and biodynamic certified farm integrated within a reawakened ecosystem.  The farm regeneratively grows more than 200 varieties of fruits and vegetables, and raises sheep, cows, pigs, chickens and ducks with care and respect, while working in harmony (or a comfortable level of disharmony) within a dynamic ecosystem.  Job description

Under the direction of the Market Garden Manager and Market Garden Coordinator, the Market Garden Assistant addresses the needs of the Apricot Lane Farms Garden while striving to maintain the principles of Biodynamic and Regenerative Organic Farming. 

Job Duties:

  • greenhouse seedling care
  • irrigation
  • hand-weeding
  • harvest of a variety of crops
  • bed preparation and maintenance using trowels, pruners, loppers, rakes, hoes, shovels, forks, and a rototiller
  • pest management and disease monitoring
  • soil and foliar compost and nutritional input application
  • infrastructure maintenance and repair, especially irrigation systems
  • detailed record-keeping of garden plantings, bed turns, inputs, and seed orders
  • collaborative planning and problem solving with the garden team and other departments

Qualifications and Skills:

  • preferred minimum 2 years market garden or small-scale vegetable farming experience
  • high school diploma
  • demonstrates a keen interest in regenerative agriculture
  • able and willing to …
    • interact with all levels of guests, management, and staff
    • work cooperatively and efficiently in a team environment
    • work well independently with minimal oversight
    • walk up hilly and steep terrain daily
    • bend, stoop and kneel for long periods of time
    • work outside in a variety of extreme weather conditions, including rain, cold, heat, and wind
    • lift and carry a minimum of 35 pounds with and/ or without assistance
  • able to work M-F; 6:30am – 3:00pm
