Jason Wiebe Dairy is a third generation dairy farm near Durham, Kansas. We milk about 130 cows, and have been making farmstead cheese from our licensed processing plant since 2003. Besides family help, we have 2 full-time employees and a handful of part-time employees. We sell cheese across the United States, and have won several awards with our cheeses. We use about 30% of our milk production for cheese and would like to grow to 100%. We are passionate about producing high-quality cheese and would love for you to share that passion.

 

Job description We are accepting applications for anything from part-time to full-time. Your responsibilities could range from assistant to head cheesemaker, depending on abilities and desires. No previous experience required. This job has some physical requirements, for example: bending over a cheese vat and picking up 20lb slabs of cheese, forking/shoveling cheese curds, scooping 20lbs of curds into a bucket, putting 56lb filled cheese forms into a press, and carrying 50lb blocks a short distance.

Full-time employees get 50% paid health insurance (BCBS), up to 3% matched retirement, free cheese, and free milk. Wages are negotiable and hinge on abilities and previous experience. Compensation this position is : hourly, varies DOE, $18.00 - $28.00 Application instructions DeadlineApril 30, 2024
