Company description Flynn Creek Farm is a certified organic farming operation in its second season of becoming a regenerative farming operation. The produce side of the operation will be the primary focus for the 2024 season as we continue to implement the plans and setup for the our farming operation’s vision. Our produce will be sold primarily through a local large wholesale account that we are developing an intertwined relationship with. Flynn Creek Farm is seeking a skilled crew member to join our new farming operation that is eager to learn, has a great work ethic, positive attitude, and strong dedication to our mission who functions well in a fast-paced environment. Crew members will be involved in all aspects of the farm’s production including seeding, transplanting, weeding, harvesting, washing, packing wholesale orders, and any other farm maintenance needed while keeping a clean and organized working space. Throughout the season, crew members will work closely with farm managers and have ample opportunity for an in-depth look at organic farming processes that will be mostly produce focused, but will also get to learn how regenerative practices like livestock grazing, prairie restoration, on farm fertility programs, and more can be integrated into a produce operation.

This position will have the ability to learn the necessary skills to become a field crew lead, wash/pack shed lead, or become one of the managers in the future if desired. With the farm’s vision of being a multi-faceted operation, the opportunity to learn and grow with the farming operation is virtually endless.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Fast, hands-on learner who takes instruction well, is not afraid to ask questions, and quickly applies lessons learned to their work.

  • Desire to learn and be excited to work with our produce farming operation

  • Energetic person who understands deadlines and shows up on time with a positive attitude.

  • Active communicator who enjoys being part of a team, but is also comfortable working alone on projects.

  • Reliable, responsible, and self-motivated individual who is open to receiving feedback.

  • Individual with strong attention to detail, thorough observation skills, and ability to maintain consistent sizing standards while keeping efficiency in mind.

  • Strong communication skills among coworkers and managers

  • Selfless attitude - willing to help others even when not required / expected of you

  • Not afraid of long days of physical work in all weather conditions.

  • Ability to lift 40 pounds is required.

  • Because our business is located in an area without access to reliable public transportation, we only recommend that applicants with access to a vehicle apply.

  • Previous farming experience is preferred, but is not required.

Hourly Rate

  • Starting at $16-19/hr (depending on skills / experience)

    • Part-Time: 3 days per week

    • Full-Time: 4-5 days per week

    • 3rd year $200

  • Health insurance stipend-Full-Time Employees Only

    • 1st Year - $150/month of employment

    • 2nd Year - $250/month of employment

    • 3rd Year - $300/month of employment

  • PTO-Full-Time Employees Only

    • 1st Year- 24 hours, 2nd Year- 40 hours, 3rd Year- 50 hours, 4th Year- 60 hours, 5th Year- 80 hours
