Veggies to Table is a non-profit 501c3 grow-to-donate organic diversified fruit, veggie and flower farm. Everything we grow we donate to those in need of food and joy in our community. We partner with 35+ local pantries, schools, summer lunch, and educational programs to bring our nutrient dense, and produce to community members experiencing hunger. We have welcomed hundreds of volunteers to the farm and work to create deep community connections on the farm and beyond.

Job description

Veggies to Table is looking for a full or part-time development professional with experience in fundraising, event planning, grant writing, and donor development. This is a hybrid position, with a flexible combination of remote work and time spent at our Newcastle location. Some night and weekend work may be required for events with advance notice.

Position Summary:

You will work with Veggies to Table’s Executive Director and Development team to help:

  • raise funds through grants, events, private donors, and corporate sponsors.
  • manage, track, and develop our existing donors and sponsors.
  • maintain and improve our donor management database and communication practices.
  • develop a sustainable revenue stream through events, value-added products, and merchandise.
  • help create communication systems to expand our reach through our newsletter, social media channels, public events, and press.

Responsibilities:

Events & Fundraising-

  • help develop, plan, and execute a Veggies to Table Auction
  • organize and execute a Volunteer Appreciation Day
  • assist in developing, planning and executing our third annual Paris Sweepstakes
  • help create and implement our end of year and spring appeals
  • attend community events and represent Veggies to Table 
  • manage our ticket sales software (Ticket Tailor)
  • help schedule and organize other ad-hoc events, such as flower pop-ups or dahlia tuber sales

Donor Relations-

  • develop and implement monthly donor strategy
  • develop and manage relationships with current donors and corporate sponsors 
  • manage our CRM database (Kindful/Bloomerang)
  • manage our newsletter database (Mailchimp)

Communications & More-

  • work with team in posting to our social platforms
  • work with team in publishing newsletters & press releases
  • maintain and update our Website (Squarespace)
  • research and create new Veggies to Table Merch
  • manage our e-commerce orders
  • create and improve our Google advertisements 
  • post job listings for new team members when we have openings

This job may also include Volunteer Management-

  • recruiting and onboarding volunteers
  • corresponding with volunteers 
  • scheduling volunteers
  • tracking volunteer work and time

Desired experience:

  • 2-4 years of administrative or nonprofit work preferred
  • proficiency in Google Docs, Google Sheets, Word, Excel, Canva, Squarespace, Mailchimp
  • experience writing grants or desire to learn
  • experience planning or assisting with fundraising events

Qualifications:

  • comfortable working in both group/team settings and independently
  • an excellent communicator
  • a passion for serving our community 
  • a passion for creating and building community
  • highly organized and self-motivated 
  • ability to multitask, manage time, evaluate progress, and adjust activities to complete tasks within established time frames, while producing high quality work
  • excellent and compelling writing skills
  • strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with a team, as part of an organization, and with other organizations
  • knowledge of organic veggie and flower farming is a plus

Benefits:

  • Salary commensurate with experience $20-25/hour if part time and starting at $43,000 a year if full-time
