National Sales Manager, Remote Client of Gigantic Ventures

Company description Gigantic Ventures is based in far Northern California, where Bigfoot roams, craft beer rules, and kinetic sculptures are sacrificed to the raging Pacific Ocean. Founder, Jason Baxter helps specialty food and niche lifestyle brands grow by developing scalable growth plans and building talented teams.

This is a remote position is for a small, but nationally distributed client. Candidates must be based in the US.
Job description

If you're a US-based Salesperson with many years of experience selling for a specialty food brand, we would love to hear from you. Our client, a leading specialty food brand with national distribution, has an exciting remote opportunity for a skilled sales professional with a solid track record.


Responsibilities: This position is responsible for

  • expanding the brand's nationwide coverage with additional placements to existing accounts

  • opening distribution to strategic new key retailers

  • travel (20-25% estimate) to B2B events, client/retail locations, and occasional team meetings

  • daily interaction with a remote team of active owners, marketers, and customers

  • building relationships with retail buyers and other decision makers

  • implementing annual account planning process including promotion schedules, forecasts, category reviews, in-store marketing support, etc. 


Qualifications: Potential candidates will have

  • many years experience in various food sales roles, successfully representing specialty food brands - bonus to those with experience in artisan cheese, jam, or charcuterie

  • experience working with multidisciplinary teams to develop B2B sales plans capable of growing specialty food brands’ distribution

  • the ability to work remotely, independently and collaboratively

  • a substantial rolodex of national connections across the various regions, allowing them to connect with decision-makers and immediately hit the ground running

  • demonstrated understanding of buyer behavior, drivers, category management, etc.

  • must tech savvy with working knowledge of common CRMs, proficient in excel and other database programs

  • the ability to make data-driven decisions and be able to implement weekly reporting protocols for key business metrics, and be able to present data in a meaningful way to others

  • a positive attitude; self-starter and top performer


Travel Note: This is a remote position for someone based in the U.S. with some travel including

  • up to four Trade Show/Distributor Show events per year

  • up to six additional travel dates to meet with key retail accounts/distributors/brokers


Compensation: The perfect candidate will earn

  • between $75K-$100K+ base salary (DOE)

  • bonus tied to performance metrics

  • health care reimbursement
