Heron Pond Farm produces up to 50 acres of mixed vegetables in the Seacoast of New Hampshire. We are a four-season farm with a robust CSA program and we attend local farmers markets.

What is CSA? Community Support Agriculture. The community directly supports and invests in local farms prior to or at the beginning of the season for a share of vegetables throughout the season (or in our case, two seasons across most of the year).
 

How it Works: Our CSA shares are set up market style, allowing the member to choose what is in their share each week based upon a choice chart in our weekly newsletter. We also have four add-on share options: local dairy, mushrooms, eggs and meats.

About the Position:

We are seeking a CSA & Farmers Market Distribution Associate. We are hopeful to cross train all of our new employees to be able to work in the farm stand in addition to CSA and markets

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES: You will provide a genuine, positive customer service experience, answering any questions about our products as well as questions about the farm, being able to provide information and recommendations

• During the weekly CSA pick ups and / or farmers markets you will be responsible for:

  • Loading and unloading the box truck in a timely manner

  • Setting up tables and produce displays

  • Checking members in, informing them of any changes in their choices and relevant information

  • Restocking and rotating produce stock, taking inventory before and after

  • Perform standard cash register procedures using our point of sale system(s)

  • Keeping the displays, trucks, and any space we use clean and organized

• CSA promotion and sales to members and potential members

• Comfort or willingness to learn to drive a cabover box truck in year round weather 

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

• This job is physically demanding, you’ll be on your feet most of the time, climbing in and out of the truck, and must be able to lift 50lbs.

• A passion for local food and a familiarity with cooking with farm fresh veggies is a plus but not required

• This position is meant to begin in May. There is an opportunity for year round work

• Part Time around 30 hours:

  • Tuesday-Wednesday availability for CSA pick ups

  • One weekend market availability: Saturday or Sunday

  • Optional prep & pack day: Friday or Saturday

• Hourly rate starting at $17 plus free seasonal vegetables!

• Have experience working on a farm or in the restaurant industry (always a plus)
• Have a valid driver's license (to drive a box truck)
