  • Description: Philly Foodworks is searching for an individual who has a strong passion for food and local food systems. The selected candidate will be responsible for coordinating and attending events, and building partnerships with similar businesses and organizations around Philadelphia to promote the Philly Foodworks online market. The primary objective is to attract new customers who are interested in consuming delicious, locally grown, and sustainable food.
  • Responsibilities
        1. Coordinating and attending events
          1. Identify public events in Philadelphia and the surrounding area that fit with the Philly Foodworks brand/mission. 
          2. Reach out to event hosts, coordinate attendee logistics, and attend events.
          3. Reach out to businesses and organizations in and around the city to co-host public events. Example: Co-host a happy hour with a local brewery to promote local producers. 
        2. Creating partnerships and cross-promotion opportunities
          1. Build relationships with businesses and organizations in and around the city to promote the PFW online market to those organizations' supporters/followers/customers.
          2. Identify creative partnership ideas, including giveaways, donations, etc, that help people get excited about local food.
        3. Internal communication + tracking
          1. Communicate with the PFW marketing team to cross-promote partnerships + events via social media + email marketing.
          2. Use QR codes, Google Sheets, and Google Forms to help manage new sign-up data and increase the company’s ability to remarket to interested people. 
          3. Communication expectations: Must respond to emails or texts within 2 business days. 
  • Schedule + Reporting:
      1. Approximately 15 - 30 hours/week
      2. Most of the work is remote however, it will require in person meetings at our warehouse every other week. If you prefer to work at our warehouse, you will have space available. 
      3. The preferred start date is April 5th, 2024, but it can be flexible for the right candidate. 
      4. The hourly requirements fluctuate with the season, with more hours required in April + May and September + October
      5. During April, May, September, and October, this will require 2-3 work days on weekends/month.
      6. Reports directly to the CEO
    1. Compensation + Requirements: 
      1. Compensation
        1. $17-$20/hour based on experience
        2. $10 commission on new customers (A new customer is defined as someone who comes from an event or partnership and places two orders on the online market)
        3. Accrued PTO
        4. $20/week in online market credits
        5. Healthcare stipend
      2. Requirements
        1. Must be passionate about food and the local food system
        2. Must be able to drive
        3. Must be able to lift 30 lbs
        4. Must have experience working in customer-facing positions such as retail, event staffing, customer service, etc
        5. Must be able to communicate clearly both during sales events as well as with partners
