Passionate about food and understanding our food system? Looking for a great weekly job May - October in a vibrant community of food obsessed vendors?

Get the chance to engage customers on the ground at farmer’s markets and in retail accounts. This is a hands-on opportunity to learn about the food system, sourcing, ecommerce, sales and marketing.
 

Our sales team members will assist in setting up, selling and tearing down at farmer’s markets in the Boston area. Our main market is SOWA - weekly on Sundays. There will also be opportunities to demo in our retail accounts around town.

Team members will be the face of Wehl Plant Drops in the Boston area. They will be the key to our on-the-ground marketing strategy. Engage with the team regarding customer feedback and inform our future roadmap for product development and messaging.

Responsibilities:

• Requires working outside in a canopy tent in all weather conditions
• Requires 8 hours of active time on feet
• Enjoy interacting and chatting with customers, informing them about the benefits of our products
• Potential for sales commissions on top of hourly salary

Qualifications:

• Availability during market hours (SOWA hours Sundays 9 - 5 including setup and breakdown)
• Driver's license necessary to transport market equipment and product to and from markets and demos
• Access to vehicle capable of hauling market equipment from our kitchen/warehouse strongly preferred
• Self Starter - Ability to arrive on-time, set up and break down with minimal supervision
• Must be able to lift 50 lb loads
• Passion for food and curiosity about our food system
• Ability to charge orders via Point of Sale on phone or tablet
• Food service experience a plus
• Previous customer service roles a plus
