The Chatham Real Food Market Co-op (CRFM) is a thriving community-owned local market with over 1,200 member-owners. Since opening in 2009, the Co-op focuses on directly supporting our local farmers and crafters as well as supplying our community with organic and natural groceries. We have a full fresh produce department, a café serving lunch and grab & go prepared foods, grocery, health & wellness, bulk department, and community room.

We seek an individual with authentic interest in organic produce, a passion for food system issues, working with local growers and a leadership style focused on team building and support. Additionally, the candidate must have the ability to comprehend pricing and margins, participate in purchasing, and maintain accurate inventories. Responsibilities:
- Lead a team to improve performance, customer service, and product knowledge.
- Train and uphold department procedures, skills, and operations.
- Ensure all produce displays are well stocked, properly signed, and attractively arranged.
- Oversee ordering and maintain product quality.
- Implement and maintain a Safety Program while fostering a strong Safety Culture.
- Uphold sanitation and presentation standards for the department.
- Support personnel development and oversee department administration.
-Work cooperatively with the management team
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate would possess the following:
- Basic computer skills to place orders, utilize databases, and create forms
- A minimum of 2 years experience in the natural foods industry, with at least 1 year of supervisory or management experience preferred
- Ability to be on their feet all day, lift to 50 lbs, and operate all department equipment
- Ability to motivate others and contribute to creating a positive work environment through their conduct and interaction with coworkers and management
